Summer footwear for men: not wearing socks with shoes?

SS08 menswear collections, the tendency is to not wear socks with shoes. Me seems that not wearing socks is not especially comfortable, hygienic and pleasant (and I think most will agree). So I'm looking for a solution, to get the sock without looking, without the drawbacks. NB these will not work as trainer socks that are cut too high and are on the edge of the shoe.

Women have things called footsies. They are made of nylon material (like socks and stockings), but they cover only the foot in the shoe for your foot bare, but seems not. You could try to buy these, nobody knows you're using. Comfort over fashion any day!
