What are current European fashions worn in Italy… or Europe?

I’ll be going to Italy for two months this summer and I really don’t want to stand out…. Can any Europeans help me out? I’m from the states and our fashion is really obviously “American” and I would like to blend in with the culture.
Please help.
Ideas on shoes (especially), pants, shirts, dresses would be appreciated.

No matter what you wear, you will stand out, or not.
Some people blend in with the locals even though they wear ‘American’ fashion, others will stand out in locally bought clothes and shoes, just because they do not blend in at all.

If you want to see what is in fashion, search for things like ‘fashion Italy’ although you might get a lot of designer clothes that most people will not wear.

Most people in Europe wear jeans, T-shirts and sweaters or nice tops/shirts.
Most seen shoes are sport shoes, often well known brands, but nearly never completely white, (although that does change year to year,) but when you look around in town in summer you will see any kind of shoe pass.

Europeans tend to wear less shorts than Americans, only on hot days.

I would say, bring jeans, T’s and tops and a sweater or two and buy your summer clothes in Italy, and get a pair of (not too expensive) summer shoes in Italy as well, but much more important, look at what the Italian girls/guys your age wear and how they wear it.
You will notice that there is not as much difference in what they wear, but more in how they wear it.
