Planning a trip to NYC 2008 Spring Break!!!?

Okay i’m from GA i’m planning a trip to NYC for a 5 day 4 night trip with my friends. I’m 19 and my friends are the same age as well , we are all in college so we want to do something thats fun, do a lil sight seeing, SHOP SHOP SHOP but we dont wanna spend like 900 dollars on a pair of shoes more like expensive but not where it leaves us broke with little to bring home. I want to stay in a hotel it doesnt have to be fabolous but it needs to be your decent basic hotel thats clean and what are some good restaurants i’m going to plan this so i’m trying to get some great advice.

Wow, you are in luck! New York City is awesome and I’ve been there several times in the last few years. First, I think you should start trying now to get tickets to at least one of the tv shows that films is NYC (David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, Regis and Kelly, etc.). You can also try to get tickets to a Broadway show, which is a thrill, especially if it is your first time in NY. I would recommend Les Miserables or The Color Purple. Now, in terms of sightseeing, I would take a boat trip around New York. I think the company is called Circle Line and they offer several different boat trips. You should see Grand Central Station, the Empire State Building, and go on the NBC studio tour. You will love Time Square at night. Of course, check out the shops on 5th Avenue (Tiffany, Sephora, etc.). You should definitely go to Canal Street, which is famous for knockoff designer handbags, sunglasses, and jewellery. Many look like the real deal and are very good quality. For shoes, you’ll want to go to DSW. Of course, check out Macy’s too. For restaurants, you should go to Serendipity on the Upper East Side, where famous folks like Beyonce go and it is well known for frozen hot chocolate and decadent desserts. For fun, go to Tom’s Restaurant on the Upper West Side. It is reasonably priced and diner food (breakfast, milk shakes, burgers, etc), but it is the diner that you see in every episode of Seinfeld. Another fun thing to do is to go to Hello Deli in Time Square, where you can meet and have your picture taken with Rupert, who is on David Letterman all the time. Have an awesome time. It really is a lot of fun and you’ll be so glad you went.
