How to deal with vendor that brings wrong items?
I havea footwear company, and one of my main vendor is just very irresponsable and doesn’t seems to care. The problem is that he’s the only carrying what I need, low price and Im pretty much his only client too.
We have problems like, ordering a run of 24 pairs of Style A in 7 different sizes. Then he would bring 26 pairs in only 6 different sizes, almost ignoring the purchase orders I’m giving… I place orders for specific products and he thinks its ok to substitute for something else….
it would be fine if I;m just stocking up, but a lot of orders are items already on backorder, that I need…
Do all vendors do this? (I think most won’t)
Do you have any experience dealing with pleople like this? What can I do? I don’t want to end the business relation with them.
i used to deal with shady beer vendors who would not rotate the beer and try to short you a few cases here and there. plain and simple, don’t put up with it. i was young and they thought they could scam me. i would stand there and watch them and count right with them. many vendors are known for this! you and him have a contract, it may be in writng or be verbal. he still has an obligation to hold up his end. tell him you will not pay for services not recieved.
