Footwear Making Process
What questions do you get asked if you take a Forensic Science exam..to testify in court?
when you pretend to be an expert witness and your lecturer pretends to cross examine you.
I know most of it is based on the witness statement. Mine is about two burglaries and the two suspects left footwear impressions on a piece of glass at both burglaries and there are two pieces of glass, one from each scene. Roughly what questions can you expect?
Even stock questions like ‘What is the process to make a cast of the impression?’ or ‘Did you work alone?’
Anything would be useful..
The first question would be:
What knowledge do you have in this field?
What process is used to ascertain this print on the glass?
Why do you say this foot print is made by this shoe, trainer etc? Expain why you say this?
In your opinion what size footwear is the print off?
Would you say these marks are made by the same piece of footwear at on both pieces of glass? If yes… why? If no… why?
