Fashion Footwear Code

Anyone here with a sense of fashion.. can you help me? :]?

Okay, haha, you don’t need a sense of fashion. I just need some help(:

So I’m going to a private high school next year (9th grade) it’s not uniformed but there is a dress code. No jeans, no sweats, and no shirts with logos or like writing (example.. abercrombie). Oh, and no sleeveless (can be half sleeved tho) and not too short dresses or skirts or shorts.

So, can you guys suggest any pieces of clothing where I can stand out yet be appropriate as a newbie in the school? Dresses, skinny PANTS (not jeans), footwear, anything would help!!!!

Thanks so much(: be prepared for a BA =)

Oh, this is the right section because I’m looking for help from adolescents and their fashion views. thx

Cool.

You could wear a simple v-neck (or boat neck) tee and tuck it into an elastic-waist skirt. American Apparel sells then in different colours (I’m talking about their tulip skirt (I think they’re really cute), lookie: http://store.americanapparel.ca/rsa5306.html ). If you wear a white shirt with say a grey or black skirt, you could jazz it up with a pair of bright tights or something. Put on a cardigan or plain zip-up hoodie if you’re cold. Any kind of shoe works with the outfit (boots, flats.. I guess sneakers if you’re really lazy). A lot of girls at my school dress like that and it’s very neat and conservative looking but kind of cool too since the whole indie girl-next-door thing is pretty big right now. You could also put on a long pendant if you feel like it.

Skinny pants… You can try cuffing them and putting on a pair of bright low-top Chucks. Or put on a pair of high-top Chucks. I’ve never tried this personally (with high-tops) but I’m imagining it’d look kind of like, old-school punk. And then put on a bright hoodie or something. I think a pair of black skinny pants would look good cuffed with a bright sweater and bright shoes.

Hm.. But pieces of clothing to stand out. I used to sew buttons onto my clothes to make them different and special. I sewed buttons onto my black low-tops which like, every other person in the school had. You could also try dying some stuff. My friend had a pair of pink shoes and they were dumped in black dye and they turned this really cool purple/pink/brown colour. Like mauve-ish. Jewellery is pretty easy to deal with. You can make your own with plastic kiddie beads and elastic, or glass beads from a bead store. You can also do your hair different and make your own signature look. I did that for a while and it was kind of cool. I wore my hair in 3 braids, two skinny ones on one side and one thicker one on the other and had a hippie braid happening in the front. You can play with make-up too.

Idk. Go play around with your clothes and try what looks good. Your situation sounds like a good reason to go shopping. :] Think of the dress code as something to help you max your creativity or whatever. I hope my book of an answer helps.
