Why aren’t the people on earth wearing footwear that are equipped with piezo-electric crystals to make power.

When pressure is applied to peizo-electric crystals they produces an electric currant that could be used to charge a battery to power an electric device. With all the walking everybody does these days it would be a virtual gold mine to install these crystals in the soles of boots and shoes and walk our way to power freedom.

This is a good idea and would work, we would have to carry a battery with us. There are other ways for us to generate electricity such as hooking up generators to the exercise machines in all the spas in the world. Another would be to use generators to capture the wasted energy of a train going down hill. (This is now being done on a small scale in Europe. After 3 trains go down hill, it generates enough energy for one to go up the hill). It would be great if we could find a way to generate cheap electricity to help third world countries.
