Coil Spring Shoes

80s/90s Shoe fad? Help!?

Ok, back in the late 80s/early 90s there were these coils that kids used to put on their shoe laces. They looked like springs. So you could have 4 at once on there at a time going across each section of your shoe where the laces cross. Now, my question is, what were these called and does anyone have a picture of some? You weren’t cool unless you had these on your shoes!

Next, does anyone have a picture of a friendship pin people used to put on their shoes in the early 80s. These were the safety pin that had beads on them that you would put on your shoes.

This is for an article on www.heremeow.com.

Thanks!

Here’s a site that has a picture of friendship pins: http://www.liketotally80s.com/friendship-pins.html
I think I still have some of those somewhere.

Sorry, I don’t remember the name of the things for the shoelaces. I remember them, but they were after my time.
