This is the 25th year of this important exhibition – widely accepted as the premier event for all those involved in the business of making leather. During the period three days – March 31 2 April 2009 – the participants, exhibitors and buyers enjoy a 'once a year opportunity to catch up with new, see the latest trends, meet new business partners and exchange industry gossip. There are more prized trade show, or better served, that APLF – Materials, Manufacturing and Technology (MM & T).

The earlier case, which ran over precisely the same dates earlier this year, welcomed over 1,120 exhibitors from 56 countries and regions which, in turn, welcome 19,500 more buyers from almost every country in the world.

Even at this early stage the outlook for 2009 indicate similar, if not slightly higher numbers across the exhibitors and buyers alike. And as in previous years, M & T will run concurrently with the exhibition a great success in providing access fashion handbags, Footwear, Travelware, leather goods and fashion accessories of all kinds.

Those who have attended MM & T in the last couple of years have seen some minor discomfort, while a large expansion program of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center (HKCEC) was underway. The good news is that these works are almost completed in March 2009 and access between different exhibition rooms and areas will be much easier.

Synthetic materials, components and accessories sectors of MM & T will move in Conference Room 3 of the Great Hall and Hall 2, placing them on the same level as the leather sector.

2009 will feature a broad new program of seminars and special areas to forecast trends – in materials, design and colors for the coming seasons. For exhibitors will have the opportunity to compete in the coveted 'Best of APLF Awards.

APLF – Materials, Manufacturing and Technology in 2009 promises to be the largest, most complete exposure and success in the series. The appropriate result of 25 years of bringing the leather industry in the world under one roof.
