My big toe has gone numb. Been like this for a month now. What’s wrong with it?

Before you suggest i visit the doctor, i HAVE made an appointment but it’s not for another three weeks (I live in the UK and our NHS isn’t the fastest). It’s numb at the top joint of my toe – i could stick a knife in it and wouldn’t feel anything. I’m 32 by the way, non-smoker. Any ideas what could be wrong with it? I haven’t injured it recently to the best of my knowledge, and wear good footwear. Thanks

you could have a trapped nerve I have one in my arm somewhere my pinky and half of the next finger is dead cant feel it when i do get feeling in it its like weird pins and needles but most of the time I feel as if i could snap my finger and not feel it..makes it dangerous when peeling potatoes..lol

thats since Xmas after seeing the doc and next week only now seeing the orthpedics chap (bone guy) to sort it out HOPEFULLY. its a very weird feeling as its started to happen in the other hand aswell

Good luck with the NHS as we all do wait patiently as patients..lol

try not to damage the toe as you can knock it and not realise as I did with my finger very nasty!!!
