About Ancient Egypt?

I need to know about some Ancient Egypt stuff. Im doing a project on Fashion. I want to know about the clothes of the rich and poor, and about their footwear. Thanx

Basically, the Egyptians made clothes from what they could find around them. Since it is mostly very hott there, they used linen, a very light material.
Linen is made from plant fibres from the Nile River.

Generaly, poor men wore short skirts (often depicted in paintings) called “Kilts”.
And poor woman on the other hand wore straight fitting dresses with straps over their shoulders.

Their working clothes involved a loincloth for the men and a short skirt for the woman.
The kids of the town often ran around nude, especially in the summer months.

The rich men wore pleated kilts and some older men, a longer kilt.
Also, wealthy men and women would wear long, (often) see through robes that were pleated.
Noblemen would have wore a long robe over his kilt and the noblewomen wore long pleated dresses with a shawl.
Some kings and queens wore decorative ceremonial clothing with feathers.

For footwear, people usually went around barefoot but had palm-fibre or papyrus sandals for special occasions.
Wealthy people wore sandals made of leather that had straps across the instep and between the first and second toes.

Preists however could not wear leather sandals or wool clohing, as it was considered unclean. They wore a long leopard robe when werving the god Amun.

The King would wear gold and elaborate jewls for special occasions and ceremonies.

The Egyptians cared about their appearance a great deal. The women spent a lot of time bathing, rubbing oils and perfumes into their skin, and using their many cosmetic implements to apply make-up and style their wigs.

Using a highly-polished bronze hand mirror, a woman would apply khol, a black dye kept in a jar or pot, to line her eyes and eyebrows, using an “brush” or “pencil” made of a reed. Men wore this eye make-up as well, which was not only a fashion but also protected against the eye infections which were common in Egypt. They would use a dye called henna to redden their nails and lips.

Wigs were worn by men and women. Wigs were made from human hair or wool. They wore curled wigs for special occasions
